In this amazing new music video, a bevy of music legends performs a human beat box ditty a-capella. It's part fun game of "recognize that album cover", and part heart-wrenching story of a man with great taste in music but awful taste in consumer electronics. And all in just over two minutes. (SLYT)

That was great. And I never got why America didn't get into the MiniDisk. Those things were awesome!

BTW, the video features a cameo (or two) by Bob Dylan, the star of Heymann's previous video.

MiniDisc was great for field recording, bootlegging and capturing ideas. There was even an 8-track based around the format.

I think it just came out too soon after the CD changeover. They were used a lot in theater and for field recording, but as a consumer format, people had just finished re-buying all their music on CD and were in no mood to shell out again.

I found that via the AVClub which came via this very thread, and so the circle of life is complete.

Also, that Bob Dylan video BLEW MY FUCKING MIND. It is my new favorite thing.
