I can't believe that she drank from the penis beaker.

Am I broken that nothing like this has ever approached the near vicinity of happening to me?

I found it kinda hard to process the dialogue and read the subtitles simultaneously.

I'm friendly with all my exes, but this sums up my present relationship with the city of Baltimore.

Okay, the ending makes it work. Hah.

Completely applicable from my perspective.

You can pretty much ignore the dialogue. It's all about dat subtext.

oh god, so many of my friends have an ex like this. it always makes me want to leave the bar/party/etc when it reaches the various stages shown at the bar there.

My favorite part is the guy in the backgroud getting friendly with the duck head beer tap (starts around 2:10)

No, echocollate, I think you should be thankful. I've been there, uh, done that... and while there's a certain beauty in it, the ending has it spot on... "Fuck."

On the other hand I'm in a "best of all possible worlds" perspective these days, so.. while hooking up with an ex might have kept me from moving on, it meant that when I did move on, it was to a really great dude (hi, Mr. Nat).

Also it means that instead of emptythought's perspective, mine is more "hey sex is a *good* thing, go out and enjoy it, y'all." Maybe with special emphasis on "go out" already.

it's mostly that this video just skipped over the awkward public argument that comes after the sex part, the next time they both show up at the bar.

Or the kissing someone else in front of you part.

Woody Allen did it 37 years ago. It's pre-relationship instead of post, but it's the same subtitled flirty/awkward banter deal.

I liked it. But I found the ending a little more ambiguous than some of you apparently did. Are they regretting that they slept together, or just kind of overwhelmed? Do they both mean the same thing by "fuck"? I wondered if his was more an expression of amazement, and hers was more regret.

it's all of the above. it's regret, being overwhelmed, and a not-regret but still "wow, what am i doing?" sort of self questioning.

it's amazement and regret and confusion all at once.

I think the "fuck" was more just the way you react to all the personal growth, or moving on, or justification you've been doing since the relationship ended, just going poof. On so many levels you just roll the clock back to the breakup.
