Volbeat are a "rockabilly metal band" from Copenhagen. Formed in 2001, they list among their influences Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash, along with many metal and punk bands. Some particularly rocking cuts inside, to help you get through Monday afternoon. posted by jbickers (8 comments total) 11 users marked this as a favorite
I love me some Volbeat.

I would also direct you to:

Radio Girl
Makin' Believe (Emmylou Harris cover)
A Warrior's Call
Still Counting

Warrior's Call is on my workout mix. It is sufficiently arse-kicking.

I'd argue that Volbeat are probably covering Social Distortion's cover of the oft-covered Jimmy Work's song, Making Believe.

But no matter who covers it, I always hear it as a Wanda Jackson song.

I also quite enjoy Lola Montez. I've become quite a fan in the last couple years, although every time someone mentions them I realize how little time I've actually spent with their stuff.
