"made" & "making"? Clearly, I was too hasty in posting. I am shocked. orz

Oh my God, The Rockafeller Skank.

Shortly after I started working at First Avenue that song blew up. The DJs would play it multiple times during my shift - one night I counted FIVE. It drove me absolutely batshit. I wrote "BRING ME THE HEAD OF THE FUNK SOUL BROTHER" on the bathroom mirror.

I love it now, just listened to it twice. It's perfectly engineered for what it was meant to do - pack the dance floor.

I love stuff like this so much. I wish the Classic Albums series was still on Netflix.

"I was slightly obsessed with Adam Ant at the time..."

And now, I know why I subscribed to that song's newsletter.

The power of "The Rockafeller Skank" is that I haven't even listened to that one yet but it's been in my head for the last hour even though I haven't heard it in years.

I think we could have a whole video just discussing Fatboy Slim's room full of smiley face merchandise.

Went to a Fatboy Slim show ~10 years back. He put on a lame, dull DJ set that actually pissed me off. Completely phoned it in, could have been anyone.

Oh my god the machine at the end of the Hibes piece is awesome.

Wait a minute. Gurning at Fatboy Slim shows was a thing?

Yeah, I saw FBS at Woodstock '99, and it was dumb. That whole festival was sorta dumb. I think the next time I went to a show at my own volition, it was in someone's kitchen, and my life changed for the better.

The Hives video is funny because they were clearly asked to show the video crew where they came up with the song, and they've all been knocked down, so they just go into whatever random buildings that are now located there.
