You've obviously never been to Vancouver. Here's the annoying part:
''This is high-powered product that's producing hundreds of millions of dollars in profits for some very nasty characters,'' Doucette said. ''Most of it is going straight to the United States market.''
Don't like it? Then decriminalize it you morons! Let Monsanto, the federal government or mom 'n' pop collectives rake in the dough. Last month, the RCMP busted 80 grow operations here in BC, out of an estimated 10,000. This was (and probably will remain) their biggest bust of the year. Gangs are starting to get into it because it is so luctrative. People are bringing guns into the country so they can shoot each other over it. All for the sake of hypocritical puritanism. Sigh.

Duuuuuuuuuuude, we've some good weed. This is what happens when dedicated people apply standard horticulture practices to pot growing.

I do love the hysterical tone of the article - "this isn't the stuff you smoked in college!" - "extreme potency!" - "very nasty characters!" - "mind-numbing THC levels!" There's no mention of the greater issue of legalization, despite the fact that even some police favor it. In Vancouver, possession of amounts for personal use is basically no longer deemed worthy of arrest. And yet Vancouver still manages to be a city that other cities would like emulate. It's amazing, considering that the whole city is basically gang-run, if you believe this article.

Bah. What sylloge said.
