Dear all the women who ever existed over the entire span of human history is a performance of the poem Letter to a wish by Emilie Zoey Baker, accompanied on the fiddle by The Man Who Wasn't There (Andrew Watson).

Stunning. This would be a great piece for sociology teachers to incorporate in gender topics.

...

WOW.

This is one of the most moving pieces of art I've ever seen in my life. I had to pause about a dozen times reading the text version because my eyes were too full of tears to keep going. I've never heard my experience of womanhood laid out so plainly: a crazy ancient heart bridge. Something that connects me to all of the women who have come before and all who will come after, every grandmother and sister and girl child on the planet. Whew, I'm about to start crying all over again!

Thank you so incredibly much for posting this, Kerasia, it's a life-changer.

Beautifully expressed. I've shared this with the head of the Women and Gender Studies department at our local satellite university. In addition to her fine credentials, this woman has inspired and mentored my younger sister—who has ended her cycle of being in abusive relationships and is now a WGS major at this same university.

She's raising two daughters and I can't wait to see how our crazy ancient heart bridge strengthens them as they grow into the world.
