No Rowsdower :(

Will have to wait till I get home to check it out as to quality/obnoxiousness of adds but they have some amazingly cheesy titles in the horror/cult section.

Ooo, yes please. Though yeah, not up for ads in the movies. I can live with them on TV shows I suppose.

Shout Factory also handled the SCTV and Freaks & Geeks DVD releases. Any chance NBC will allow those to stream?

This is awesome news! Anyone who loves Bob's Burgers will LOVE Home Movies.

I have to say, I'm actually really excited about them showing some old shows from the 1950s and 60s. It's gonna be like late 80s/early 90s Nick At Nite all over again!

It's not the MST3K version, but Hulu now has the Rifftrax Live riff of Manos that Mike/Kevin/Bill performed in Nashville a couple of years ago, with 100% new jokes, previously unriffed footage, and a couple of new shorts. I already bought the download from the Rifftrax website, but it's nice to see that it's available for the more casual viewers as well.

No Blast Hardcheese either.
I thought I was the only one who preferred Rowsdower above all other episodes.

Use of original music on Freaks and Geeks was a major was a major hurdle that delayed the release of the DVDs. I'd imagine the same might be true of getting the streaming rights squared away.

Freaks and Geeks is available to stream on Netflix though.

Regarding Rowsdower and Manos, is there no YouTube in your lands? MST3K 910 The Final Sacrifice and MST3K 424 Manos: The Hands of Fate both look complete.

No Blast Hardcheese either.

Hamlet might have railing kills, though.

Yeah, but the Youtube videos are made from crappy VHS recordings, so they're not great quality.

I do watch MST on Youtube almost every day of my life, it's fine and normal

Oooh, can't wait to get home from work and check this out. If all I find is that it's US-only, I will be most upset.

My lands disappeared beneath the barrens of Alberta millennia ago, so no- there is no "YouTube" there.

Oh, and if you're looking for missing episodes on youtube, this is a pretty good directory: club-mst3k.com.

I think I'm an exception, but Agent For H.A.R.M. is my all-time favorite ep.

OK, watching The Brute Man now (it's the only one I didn't have on disc already). You can pay 99 cents to "rent" the episode and skip commercials. The commercials are your standard commercials you see on TV. They don't seem to cache. I have to wait several seconds between commercials. The episode itself is fine, of course.

Hamlet might have railing kills, though.

Oh, damn it. Now this is all I can hear in my head:
HORATIO
But, look, the morn, in russet mantle clad,
Walks o'er the dew of yon high eastward hill:
Break we our watch up; and by my advice,
Let us impart what we have seen to-night
Unto Blast Hardcheese...

Blast Hardcheese? How about Butch DeadLift, Flint IronStag, Gristle McThornBody, Slab SquatThrust, Stump Chunkman, Thick McRunFast or Touch RustRod? Why does Hardcheese get all the love?

Oh, Slab...
posted by TheWhiteSkull at 2:05 PM on February 5, 2015

I keep picturing an Edward Gorey picturebook of The Many Space Mutiny Nicknames

Butch is a boy whose DeadLift made him sag
Flint is a hunter, Ironed by a Stag

Gristle McThornbody faded away
Slab SquatThrust squats on a slab to this day

Stump Chunkman's body was found in some parts
Thick McRunFast couldn't outrun his heart

Touch RustRod sadly succumbed to gangrene
Punch RockGroin badly was punched - in his spleen

Big McLargeHuge was classed, "failure to thrive,"
Only Blast Hardcheese could somehow survive.

I installed the channel on my Roku today and saw they have Route 66. Shit, now my mom is going to be watching this channel more than me.

Today I learned there was a Weird Al Show.

So far, unlike UHF, it seems to be pretty awful.
posted by chrominance at 4:44 PM on February 5, 2015

Keep in mind, it was a Saturday morning children's show that ran on CBS in 1997. If you think of it in the same vein as Peewee Herman or something like that it was pretty good.

Oh, neat, they have Reboot. Just the first season, but it's a start.

Today? I stumbled upon this in my Roku channel store last week and added it. Was there some kind of soft launch?
