They're so cute! I sent the link to my nephew who's bird mad and he loved it. Thanks!

Wow, I love this. What a tolerant owl, to make its nest there in plain view more than once. And wow, so many uneaten spare mouse corpses in that photostream.

Is that next to their car? Must be difficult to nip out to the shops without AIIEE WINGÈD DEATH ATTACK!

I have watched this is years past and it was a good site to bookmark and check occasionally.

This year, the family seems to have sold out to an OKC TV station. My feed has three (!) overlays on the webcam, two of which are scrolling/animated. There is no way to turn them off. There's also a huge overlay on the bottom right of the screen that covers about 1/4 of the screen (placeholder for ads?).

I won't be going back to that site. Perhaps it's just me, but I really dislike animated jiggly overlays on content I'm attempting to view.

The overlay in the lower-right seems to be generally dedicated to showing shots of the owl from a different angle (second camera) or photos of the eggs & the owlet. Have you been seeing ads there?

I could do without the scrolling bar at the bottom, but given that they seem to be dedicated to using the cam to raise money for good causes (anti-hunger last year, owls this year), I can deal. Plus, no one is making me watch a free cam.

I'm still amazed that a GHO decided it wanted to nest so close to cars and people, though! I wonder if she could be a rescued owl, though I would guess that wildlife centers normally band their releases. She seems to have picked the site as a young owl and become quite devoted to it.

It's so incredibly catlike, from the loaf-like sitting position to the big round yellow eyes to the occasionally visible pink inside of mouth. I want to hug it. I know this is not a good idea.

> owls seem like awesome cats with wings. and larger claws that will remove my scalp in an instant

I've had a great horned owl gently collide with my hair. Just sayin'.

(it was like being silently biffed on the back of the noggin by the world's largest cotton ball. A cotton ball, that is, trailing handfuls of scalpels. No damage to it or me, though I do now bring up pellets at inopportune moments.)

In case you've somehow stopped watching in the last month: THE OWLETS ARE NOW SUPER HUGE. AND THEY ARE HANGING OUT ON THE LEDGE. Sometimes you can hear them snoring. (Also, sometimes you can hear them pooping. Which is gross.)
