British Telecom has filed a patent for "hyperlinks" and believes that every single hyperlink used on every U.S. website is utilizing intellectual property the company patented in 1976 and should therefore be subject to a licensing fee. Fortunately Bob Bemer, an 82 year old programmer feels he has a stronger claim and wants the "technology" kept in public domain. When will all this patent nonsense end?
