A history lesson & a dress-up game

Janine Harper and Marc Bushelle's photo series of their daughter Lily dressed up as different African-American heroines started as a Black History Month project. All photos are on Bushelle's Facebook page. NPR's Code Switch blog has the first six photos here and two more here.

These are really well done. The Shirley Chisholm one is my personal favorite.

I feel a little weird about the one putting her in a uniform but the others are great!

That's awesome she did Latifah. The Bessie Coleman one though, that is so great.

Why? Kids dress up in pretend uniforms all the time for Halloween (and Purim).
