Ambitious Designs: NZ Australia Renovation Nation
April 30, 2015 12:10 AM   Subscribe

Episode 1 - In the toughest renovation show to ever hit our screens, New Zealand couple Marwyn and Jess have purchased Australia to turn it into the home of their dreams. Episode 2 - In this episode, our couple finally get a contractor to help them fix the national identity. Episode 3 - In this episode, our couple tackle the climate--and a big air con is beyond their budget.

Serious problems treated with a bleak humour.

I LOVE this! Go ambitious, naive, diverse and gender equal Kiwis, go!

I almost wish I were still on speaking terms with my aussie/kiwi ex-wife just so I could hear what she thought of this.

@Mars Saxman - Aside from the dodgy accents (the women *might* be a Kiwi, the guy isn't), this Kiwi endorses the show!

Definitely an Australian production. All filmed in Melbourne, the narrator is the guy from the iSelect ads, the accountant is played by comedian Dikruk Jayasingha. It's produced by an Australian thinktank and I think it's all fantastic.

This is brilliant, in so many ways. Awful, fake kiwi accent notwithstanding, I laughed my arse off with equal parts joy and the horror of recognition at episode 1.

... and parts 2 and 3 keep on giving. Recommended.

I thought it was okay. I have long since stopped enjoying people taking the current political landscape off and am now just solidly despairing though.

Loved it. Now, how can we get anyone who voted for the Liberals to watch it?

I grinned through the whole thing, having never been to Australia or New Zealand. But I gave a short laughing cheer when they said "Apparently there's no contract with the original owners!"

Perfect.
