Jheronimus! For real connoisseurs of heaven and hell, i.e. life on earth, old Bosch is still unbeatable. This slightly klunky and perhaps over-ambitious site(The Bosch Game, for instance, didn't work for me) is thorough, scholarly and absolutely fascinating. [Do not view just before going to bed.]

Nice use of flash to open/close the tryptichs. (Put to good use...for once).

Thanks, Miguel, you made my day. I am fortunate enough to have viewed Bosch's enigmatic work at both the Prado in Madrid (1991) and last October at the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam (which links to the site you posted).

Very cool. I'm going to have to just bookmark it and save it for a time when I can sit and go through the entire thing.

Did anyone else see the horrible movie Antitrust a couple of years ago? The Bill Gates-like character played by Tim Robbins was a Bosch fan (or at least, he was in the screenplay, I think they kept it Bosch in the movie). He had those customizable electronic paintings up in his house, that changed according to the taste of the person in the room. He was the villain, and you knew whenever he was coming, because the paintings around you started to change to Bosch. Actually it was a very cool device in the script, but in the movie you hardly notice it. Alas.

Bosch is my all time favourite artist. I too have had the pleasure of seeing some of his workat the Prado. Thanks for the link.

Does anyone have a copy of the manual to this site lying around? What sequence of pixels do I have to click on to actually see any of the works at non-thumbnail resolution? I actually tried using the online help for the site (first time for everything--usually I just leave immediately if I can't figure out what to do) but got error messages for all of the relevant choices (i.e. site structure, how to navigate).
