Turns out you only have to watch it twice and have fast reflexes.

I liked the cover of "Mad About Me" by Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes.

This is exactly the sort of obnoxious twee shit that made me turn off annotations to begin with.

I kept ever alert, ready to notice the gorilla in the track suit dancing through the middle of the frame, but alas, it wasn't that kind of trick.

There is no way to get it in two runs... I have a theory you didn't get it.

If you didn't get to this video, you didn't get it.

I got it in two because I anticipated the last word in the sentence, and so the target of the action, closely enough that the browser showed me where.

Good or even passable youtube puzzles are a surprisingly rare breed, I liked it. It is almost perfectly set up to get it in two runs though because you can guess what to do after seeing "my".

That is my hometown in the juggling video linked in the solution. Downtown and then the water steps on the North Side.

Also, the fact that "get it" is in quotation marks better be part of the trick, cause othewise there's no excuse for using quotation marks when you're not quoting anybody.

Hover over the hints for a few clues. Or don't, if you don't want anything spoiled. You'll probably get it after hint 2 though.

Hint 1

Hint 2

Hint 3

Hint 4

Ah, I see...I had misinterpreted hint number one.

On first watching, fuck, I was totally confused.
I figured that you wouldn't link this just to mess with us.
So I watched and watched.
No clue what the secret was!
My voice got hoarse from cursing.
Got mad at you for linking this.
But eventually I rode it out.
And finally clued in.
You, sir, are on fleek.

23skidoo: I checked, and the [CRITICAL MOMENT OF DESTINY] definitely occurs earlier in the video than the point where you find out when the [CRITICAL MOMENT OF DESTINY] occurs.

23skidoo: "if you're good at guessing one word into the future."

Or, when you see this key word (hover for hint/spoiler), you just flail your mouse all over the video looking for the secret like I did.

> If the guy wanted to necessitate a third watching, he should've made the [thing you have to do] not occur at the exact moment that he tells you to do the [thing you have to do].

Makes me think you didn't get it, because that isn't in fact the case. You finally find out what you need to do almost 30 seconds after the point you need to do it...

I left after one half of one viewing.

lupus_yonderboy: "You finally find out what you need to do almost 30 seconds after the point you need to do it..."

Well, you don't really need to wait for the whole message before trying to do stuff. And given how limited the YouTube interface is, there's not really a lot of stuff to try. He could have timed it differently so that it really does force a third viewing but as it stands, you can actually do it in two (or really, one and a half) viewings.

I felt about this video about how I felt about the book "Trainspotting". Watching it one time felt like work and I couldn't see any way the reward would be worth watching it two more times. Thanks for posting, though. I know some friends who will love this.

The comments on "The Secret" video are very well written for a YouTube audience. Having commenters jump through hoops seems to be an effective idiot detection mechanism to help with the typical cesspool of YouTube comments.

Also, the video and the hints in this post ( which I assume are abbr tags ) don't work on android. :(

Just each card's fourth word, one per card; not the 4th, 8th, 12th (etc.) words.

(But you're still probably going to feel pretty meh about the whole thing.)

for future reference, when announcing your team's superiority for [reason], it is generally best not to immediately undermine the claim by mentioning that [reason] doesn't actually apply to your team

unless, of course, you buy phones with removable backs so that you can apparently be inside them
