Be careful not to cut the dickens out of your finger while working near sharks.

Julia Child kept her OSS signal mirror in the junk drawer in her kitchen. You can see it at the National Museum of American History.

To ladies forbearing and mild,
Though his record be dark,
is the man-eating shark,
Who will eat neither woman nor child.

Yes, the shark is more scared of you then you are of it. I know this isn't a competition, but I'm pretty sure I'd win this one.

A few years ago, one of my nephews was assigned to write a school report about Julia Child.... he was whining that other kids got assigned cool people to write about, but poor old miserable him? He was assigned "some old TV cook".

He got interested once we told him how she worked for the OSS in WWII: his report, "Julia Child, Super Spy!!!!!" (yep: five exclamation marks) ended up getting an A.
