Taking It Slow, Until She Took Charge

A really sweet story. I love the tone of the writing but I want to point out that there is a huge difference between "lives at home with their parents" and "providing care for last remaining parent."

They were both single. Both never married. Both taking care of an aging parent. Both Italian.

I get that this was mentioned by people trying to introduce them, but that these facts alone didn't mean they were set up in the most hackneyed sitcom plot imaginable disappoints me. Is every stereotype the media has shown me in the last 40 years about Brooklyn Italians also a lie?

Yeah, that was sweet. And I can attest to the wisdom of don't live with your elderly parents...

They met hanging out at a bocce court surrounded by busybodies and then went out for egg creams. She made him jealous by hanging out with a guy named Vito. Need more?

(Also, "But I don’t want somebody old. I’m not Anna Nicole Smith" is the best part of this whole sweet story.)

That was heart warming. If I'd have moved that slow, my wife would have killed me with the bocce ball.

no the best part is
In fact, her mother had called the police when she saw a man skulking around the house. Then the man said he was a florist, and held up a dozen roses.
as a follow-up to him taping Curb Your Enthusiasm for her

There are too many best parts:

“It was like we were 14. Even at the bocce court, he’d drop my hand.”

“It was the peer pressure. I know these guys a long time.”

I'd totally watch their sitcom.
