I'm not sure if I should use Internet Explorer, or Netscape to view this.
actually had a moment there, when I reached the "let a thousand Under Construction gifs blossom" stage

Ironically, this is beautifully designed.

Heh. I'd forgotten Bryce 3D, and how many people were making 'art' with it back in the mid-90s.

It's hard to believe there was ever a time when that stuff was bleeding edge.

May it always remain under construction!

Catscape Navigator 2.0! Maaaaan that takes me back. They totally ruined that browser with Catscape Navigator 4.

Also I just clicked a link with a popup:

The page at www.oocities.org says:

" KICK   ME   IN  THE  JIMMY "

Honestly, this page is best viewed at 800×600 pixels.
with the “times new roman” font

Heh.

This is really beautiful, if also a little eye-hurty. Also, I found Carmen Sandiego!

Masterfully composed; A hero's journey from the stars into the burning hells.

I reflected upon it and was changed.

And yet, it all makes me nostalgic for a time when I was told, with utter confidence and pride, on what text editor a particular html page was crafted.

I loved that.

I'd forgotten how much I love this æsthetic. It's gloriously awful. You'd think with the newly rediscovered love for animated GIFs that flaming skulls and kissy lips would make an ironic comeback.

I like the implied parallax scrolling.

Just beautifully curated.

I suppose those at work might want to be warned about the animated stripper gifs though.

Aw hell, I used to do that. I was even in a webring of sites that were made in Notepad.

I found it interesting to discover that if you look, you'll notice that the HTML source for the page is about ten lines long, with most of the content contained within a single enormous line (at least when viewed in my browser).
