We created a live action first-person zombie shooter in our garden - then invited unsuspecting people on chatroulette, omegle and skype to take control. [Behind the Scenes] [via]

This is amazing.

This is something I wouldn't normally click on because 99 times out of 100 I hate stuff like this. This was the 1 out 100. Absolutely marvelous.

Genius! That opening sequence had me re-living the first time I played Bio Shock. It would have taken me a couple of weeks to get out of that locked room.

So great. Well done.

I'm so happy that this is a thing that happened.

I am very jealous of the chatrouletters that got to play this! Incredibly well done.

Imagine if this were commercialized. You could maybe trade "acting" time for "play" time. Obviously some complications....

So well done. And it's clear that they're all having a blast doing it.

I was jealous at first too. But then I realized that part of my glee is watching people who aren't necessarily so steeped in FPS tropes freak out.

People are amazing. What a wonderful world we live in.

Alex, what are two phrases I thought chatroulette would never, ever inspire me to say?

There's a lot of interesting questions and answers in the "via" Reddit thread, and also this one from /r/gaming.

"We did have one guy who just kept asking to "spin around"...and "spin around faster". That was his only input before disconnecting"

Personally I'm just glad they fared better than poor Falconhoof.

That was an utter delight. If this was a start-up, I'd invest. Seriously, photo-realistic graphics, an avatar who can talk to you in real time and enemies who are not just artificially intelligent but actually intelligent? I have seen the future of gaming, and it's a bunch of goofs running around in a backyard with plastic laser rifles!

I love the request to shoot the guy cleaning his car over to the right. "I don't think he knows what's going on!"

Yes, I was thinking of the Diamond Age as well. Man, Stephenson, wrote some amazing novels.
