That's heartbreaking.

I have no idea whether it is true or not, but it is very, very true.

Nice, nice piece.

I am now nearly 50. I am very, very, tired, but luckily, I seem to have become invisible.

Ditto, WalkerWestridge, for the invisibility. You can't hurt me if you can't see me.

At least, I hope not.

(What is an auto-man?)

I think that's the family chauffeur.

Ugh. Thanks.

It is difficult to just shake that stuff off, especially when that world weariness sets in, then it is the wait for the other shoe falling, and disapointment calling, if you are lucky. Talking about it is good. Extending fair warning is graceful. Talk about it to keep others safe, and free your soul.

I just got involved in a dispute over whether or not man X had a habit of offensively coming on to women despite their ... anti-interest, or whatever the word is. The basis was a first-hand account from one of his targets.

One man in the conversation assured us that X did no such thing, because he recently camped near him (just 40' away!), and never saw such acts.

God. I get so angry. And I'm a man, for god's sake. I'm 99% immune to this harassment.

(I guess my point is: I'm tired, and that's just second-hand, for crissakes!)

That was really powerful and infuriating.

I think the auto-man is an auto-rickshaw driver; I've never heard a car referred to as an "auto" in India, whereas it's common to call the rickshaws autos.

Yeah, Aravis76, looks like I was wrong. Thanks for the fix!
