Awesome post title.

Could only be improved by addition of "legopolis" joke.

I enjoy the fact that the Weeping Angel minifig is and of itself a Weeping Angel in Who mythos. Hopefully it'll terrify some children.

I can't believe they excluded the 9th Doctor, as Christopher Eccleston already resembles a minifig with its hair popped off.

LEGO tributes to the Doctor are legion, and most just go with a lightsaber handle topped with a colored bit at the end for the screwdriver. So it does my LEGO geek heart good that the LEGO folks just went and created a new piece for the official set. Wheeee!

Figured this would be inevitable after the LEGO Dimensions game centers around the Doctor. (Or does it, I merely want to spend ridiculous amounts of money on a game involving Benny and his spaceship, Doctor Who, Batman, etc., etc., etc.)

The original proposal put together by a guy named Anthony Clark (apparently not the webcomicker) included minifigs for the 10th Doctor and Rose, the 4th Doctor (with removable scarf), a Cyberman and K-9. Also I liked the look of his 12th Doctor fig better (LEGO's making him look even MORE like Pertwee). Still, you've got to know there will be a booming market for add-on minifigs. (let's get the guy who made the Marvel Superheros to work on this!)

No more or less than the actual show. It's Doctor and Companion, plus another Doctor so he can regenerate, plus three monsters of indeterminate gender.

The Clara figure looks like it would double quite nicely as an Amy Pond figure, actually.

Needs an Amy Pond and a Rory!

12th Doctor's hair looks like he's wearing a 18th century powdered wig.

You're too late, the Weeping Angel figure already sent them back in time to the 1930s New York playset

At least the villains are of indeterminate gender, and they didn't photoshop Clara out.

Yeah, totally just bought a Wii U so I can buy the Doctor Who pack for Lego Dimensions next month. If I had any money left, I'd be throwing it at this right now. The BBC and Lego are conspiring against my paycheck.

boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

(Donna is my fave, followed by Turlough, because even as a kid I really enjoyed the idea of a fairly amoral companion, plus in retrospect it's clear that somebody really wanted to get Johnny Rotten in a TARDIS)

Luckily I probably have enough bits to put together Ninth Doctor and Rose figures already. Seventh Doctor and Ace will be trickier, which is a shame as Lego Daleks are just right for blowing up with nitro-9.

Donna was ace. Best companion since Leela.
posted by alasdair at 6:06 AM on October 6, 2015

I didn't expect it would have all of the features that the one submitted originally did and they did a nice job with the mix I think. I'll have to make my own Rose minifig but since her Doctor isn't there it makes sense that she's not. It makes no sense that Amy and Rory are missing though. I miss them. River, not so much.

I was 2 years ahead of the game with the set my son made me which still sits on my desk at work. I prefer mine for sentimental reasons, but I'm sure we'll be getting at least one of the official sets. My son probably wants his Harry Potter parts back sometime anyway.

Fingers crossed someone at Lego or the BBC puts two and two together and realizes they can do a whole series of these.

These ones probably stay stuck together better, and have a cleaner and higher quality fit in general.

All the various Doctors exist in the new Lego Dimensions video game (The Doctor apparently flips between them in sequence every time he gets killed, which is a fun touch), which implies to me that Lego has secured image rights for all of them at least in some circumstances... I would be surprised if there don't end up being at least two or three more sets, with a couple different Doctors in each one.

People already keep (some) knowledge in a bricky-wiki.

Also, Donna may have been great but someone else was already Ace.
