MAN! I live about 3 miles from PP and I don't even have much of an opinion on Madonna, but I'm with ya there triggerfinger. I'd have been there without a second thought.

Hey! Andrea's a friend from long ago - fun to see her writing on the blue. Sounds like a fun night at PP.

Hmm, I think I would prefer going to a roller skating party with him, but I would settle for something like this.

I grew up in that area and know lots of people who still live around there so I'm always like, why don't I ever hear about these events?? Plus I'm off today so I COULD HAVE STAYED UP ALL NIGHT PARTYING WITH PRINCE AND MADGE

Don't go giving me one of your lines
Say what you mean, mean what you say
Don't go and throw our love away.

He was probably awestruck that Love Song is like 26 years old. (The Madge and Prince track on Like A Prayer.)

There is a face that people make when they are watching Prince play guitar; it’s a gleeful expression that combines the joy of going down a roller coaster with the realization that you are witnessing a moment that might never be recreated by another being that lives on this beautiful Earth. It turns out Madonna also makes that face when she is watching Prince play.

I've seen this face. I've made this face. I'm glad to hear that Madge isn't immune to his spell.

A long-ago work colleague was actually there. A quote from his FB page: "It was one of the most creative live performances I've ever seen. Prince can shred, and this was as close to free form music creation in the moment as I've ever witnessed. This was some special music that made me feel glad to be alive."

This could have been the best Ramsey Street episode ever.

People who have virtually zero interest in guitar solos flip their wig for Prince. Nobody plays like him. His ability to break through genres and preconceptions and span musical decades and just connect with people through his playing continues to floor me.

It was interesting to hear this on MPR News the morning after from Andrea Swensson, who presumably got very little sleep.
