Fucking Merlot.

I like these, would be happy to actually buy the object rather than the plans though. As a non-practical person my motto is 'Buy a plan, plan to fail'.

You can actually buy mini sculptures by Theo Jansen, another kinetic artist (though with quite a different style). You can make your own, too, but you need a 3D printer.

Oh this is fantastic and makes me really wish I had a workspace where I could make these. Also, this seems as good a place as any to mention Jean Tinguely, the grandmaster of kinetic sculpture. Unfortunately, I've never been to Switzerland, so I've only gotten to see a few of his pieces since they often break and have to be repaired.

The guy in the link I posted sells his sculptures, but they aren't cheap.

Thanks jacquilynne, I noticed that after commenting, you're not wrong about that pricing. I'm wondering whether I can get some students to do something like this as an engineering project.
