This is delightful.

I especially like the real-sounding backwards chatter and cheering, and the part where a couple old folks stroll backwards across the track.

This is outstanding.

grobstein is right, the non reversed people really give this a weird vibe. Like somebody living their life backwards.

Bizzaro language. Lots of Orange. Convivial atmosphere.

No reason to think that wasn't Dutch.

Yeah, it's both interesting and embarrassing how much their running-backwards form resembles my own running-forwards form.

Now I'm fascinated with the idea of a race where the goal is to start the race in such a way where you and everyone else reach the goal as close together as possible.

Also, you people need to get your ears checked because the audio is clearly not reversed and people are speaking English.

My calves ache just watching the odd, heels-up running technique of most of those people.

Yeah, watching the runners' leg motion made me moderately uncomfortable.

So strange! Like, they're all running away from something, but they need to be super-awkward and delicate about it, but everyone's cheering? Like they invited the china shop to the bullfight accidentally, instead of the bull.

I think this is dipping into the uncanny valley, but just for fleeting instants here and there as the runners form gets strange.

Had I reflected on this, I wouldn't been surprised by the fact that they all appear to win simultaneously.

Presumably before the start of the race, people started in their own time. The last 3 to start were late because they had to endure a strange ceremony where they gave away some trophies they had sitting around, ejecting dust on their mantels.

Were the people alongside the track standing there with empty cups in case the runners felt too hydrated and wanted to expel excess water or gatorade?

This is way cooler than it has any right to be -- I'd love to present it unprefaced to a bunch of YouTube-naive 5th graders (not that I believe I'd ever be able to find such a group), ask them what was wrong with it, and see if anyone would get it and how long it took.
