Purrcast

What it says on the tin. This seems like the kind of thing at least 75% of MetaFilter would enjoy - a podcast by cats. Not to be confused with Purrrcast which is a podcast about cats.

Cats on the Internet? What a novel concept.

This is a perfect post to celebrate cult cat game hit Neko Atsume getting localized into English (already on Android, iOS as soon as it's through review).

Needs the ASMR tag, maybe?

The kitten purrs like my tabby, right before she goes into full drool mode. She's adorable and gross.

Cats seem like the ultimate pod casters who would start a podcast but never get around to continuing it, except they'd probably never get around to starting it.

They would make great game designers, though. Or, at least, testers.

I have no idea how these people got their cats wedged into their microphones, or why.

In case you need a full half hour of purring.

This is actually a brilliant idea. I'd love to see this done for other animals sounds too, especially if they're soothing. Perhaps one of lions eating a gazelle for the sales team?

I suggest playing any Purrcast simultaneously with Dave the Spazz's Halloween show (WFMU).

My cat showed no interest in the NYT's cat music this morning, but purrked right up to the kitten purring, even sniffing the speaker.

OMFG! I so wanted to catch my kitty Cleo's purr before she passed. She had this awesome thing where she would purr SOOOOOOOO loud and then when petting you would make a little happy sigh-giggle sounds in the purr and it was so awesome and I wanted to share it with the world, but didn't have the mics to pick it up :(

It's just not the same without burying your face in their fur, though.

NEXT UP: FURTUAL REALITY!

If even a half hour of purring isn't enough... you can get endless (virtual) purring thanks to the cat purr noise generator at MyNoise.net.

It's about 2am here, and I forgot about the volume set on my system. I just hope the neighbours are too scared of the 800kg tiger to complain.

I wish I'd known about this earlier this week. It wouldve been purrfect for helping me fall asleep in that crappy hotel.

That startled my cat so much she started doing meerkat impersonations trying to locate the invisible kitty.
