Lake Street Dive covers Queen for Halloween. Gets even better than the original at 2:35 or so. Wait for it.

And what I apparently missed is that Halloween tribute covers are a tradition for the band.

I will never get tired of Bohemian Rhapsody covers. This is a good one - and man, the lead singer has some pipes. And cats, lots of cats.

Forever more will I sing Meow Meow Meow during the guitar solo. Heck, all guitar solos.

I love that the lead singer is rockin' Freddie's bottomless mic stand. This is great.

The pastiches and references were nice. Rachael Price's voice is amazing. But the band's instrumentation is way too thin to pull off this faithful a cover. Should have gone in a direction more fitting their instruments.

You had me at Freddie Mercury mustache. The meowtar solo sealed the deal.

Happy 40th anniversary, Bohemian Rhapsody! Aren't you glad the critics were wrong?

I somehow managed to mix up this post and the Donald Duck one in my RSS feed, and so I kept going to 4:11 and looking for a paint gag that never materialized.

And pretty much anything with upright bass makes me happy.

I went to see these folks a year ago or so. And lost my wedding band at the venue. A few hours after making jokes about how the SYMBOL doesn't really matter. What matters is my love.

That was a long, uncomfortable walk home. But hey, I bought a copy of their albums. That was nice.

(The wife's forgiven me, mostly)

It took me a few minutes to realize you weren't saying that the musicians you hired to play at your wedding quit music after seeing this band play.
