Yo La Tengo take your requests

Yo La Tengo take your requests right now live on WFMU (various streams are here). Best pledge drive gimmick going: right now they're doing some T-Rex. A $60 pledge gets the band to play your selection.

thanks for the link, BT. this is pretty cool. (i like Yo La Tengo but i've been bad about buying their albums -- i've only got i can hear the heart beating as one.)

Yo La is cool, but these DJs suck. Figures, one is named Gaylord.

Too bad I'm at work, Bill, otherwise I'd request something appropriately odd like a cover of Donna Summer's "On The Radio."
Yo La do rock though, as does WFMU.Enjoy and pledge, folks.

By the way catatonic the name "Gaylord" is plenty manly. Remember this guy?

I caught the last half hour.. to my delight, they played one of my favorite forgotten oldies: Build Me Up, Buttercup (The Foundations, 1969).

Rebis-pop-punksters The Goops do a terrific cover of "...Buttercup" on the soundtrack to Mallrats.
