I was reading this just yesterday via that Hackaday link about his compressed hydrogen gas explosion. His Bashy Bug sales pitch is certainly smooth, but I'm curious why the game is so complicated that he couldn't get it working at IAAPA.

The demo he posted on YouTube makes the game look pretty...I dunno...simple?

Great post. Bashy Bug looks dope.

While trying to figure out what Hydrillium is I found this on the Aaron Fechter Wikipedia page:

"The Carbohydrillium reactor is controlled by The Anti Gravity Freedom Machine (AGFM), Fechter's own OS [clarification needed]."

Yes. Yes it is.

OTHER INCIDENTS INVOLVING CARBON STEEL MIXED WITH HYDROGEN

Sandia National Laboratories provides additional documentation on the incompatibility of carbon steel with hydrogen in the position paper Technical Reference on Hydrogen Compatibility of Materials, Plain Carbon Ferric Steels: C-Mn Alloys (code 1100). This technical reference states: "Hydrogen gas degrades the tensile ductility of carbon steels, particularly in the presence of stress concentrations. Additionally, hydrogen gas lowers fracture toughness, and certain metallurgical conditions can render the steels susceptible to crack extension under static loading. Hydrogen gas also accelerates fatigue crack growth ...." This stress process is known as "hydrogen embrittlement."

While conducting open source research on the production of hydrogen-based "green gas," we identified a number of other incidents similar to the Orlando explosion. Many of these incidents had tragic outcomes. The findings of our research are as follows:

This is fascinating and more than a little bit sad.

That was an extremely interesting read. Realms beyond realms.

The whole documentary linked above is really terrific. In addition to all the wacky nostalgia and wtf-ery around the robots, and their rise and fall, I came away with fondness, empathy, and sorrow for Arron Fechter. Bad decisions, and misplays, and maybe even hubris along the way, but the guy was and is super-optimistic and creative, and full of sincerity and (dare I say?) love. I found it inspiring, and I hope Bashy Bug works out for him. I really do.
