Ok, "Mother" is an adequate substitute.

I've wondered about Queen, "We Will Rock You (Ruined by Rick Rubin)" (1991). I had the News of the World re-release on tape because I wanted better quality than I could get recording my record. Man that was a weird mess. I'm actually really relieved that it was intentional and it makes some sense now.

Rick Rubin is a goddamned legend, look at the quality of this stuff, look at the range. I'm certain hip hop is not where it is today without Rubin, and he was out there producing seminal thrash metal like Slayer at the same time, then later big comebacks for Tom Petty and Johnny Cash?

Hoopo - I totally agree, he is responsible for so much amazing music, especially developing hip hop. Interesting he chose Ll Cool J's "I Need A Beat" over "Rock the Bells" (mainly as I freakin' love Rock the Bells - the guitar scratch is phat as fuck.)

I hadn't heard the remix of Queen's "We Will Rock You" until now, and, wow, that is super fantastic. I know Rubin says the idea was to ruin it but man, that is so fucking fantastic - I am on my second listen now! Awesome. Sorry, Rick Rubin, you are a fucking legend and everything, but I love this to pieces!
