Andrew Loomis, drummer of the influential band Dead Moon, has died.
While Loomis was cancer free at the time of his death, he had been diagnosed with lymphoma last year and spent much of 2015 fighting hard, undergoing surgery and radiation treatment for the disease and combatting some other health problems.

Turns out if you just strip the "1" off the end of the link from the previously, you don't need the archive link. here

I've seen Dead Moon at least three times. Amazing band, amazing drummer.

Lucky enough to see Dead Moon play at Dante's when I moved to Portland. I've never seen a band in my life who was more clearly and closely bonded to each other as human beings – the love between all three was palpable. Turns out to make hard, heavy, ultra-influential music you don't necessarily have to do a whole petulant tantrum schtick on stage.
