As part of its job recruitment program, McDonalds in Japan have released a (pretty adorable) anime ad. (More character info here though it's all in Japanese.) People are lovin' it - and there's a fandom already.
Also -- how about that machine that dispenses the mustard and ketchup? Five perfect yellow dots interspersed exactly by five perfect red dots. None of that giant red splotch violated by a streak of yellow in Japan!

Now I really want a McDonald's anime with some of the art form's more traditional elements. Picture it: Sumire, burger flipper by day, supernatural demon fighter by night.
Sorry, McDonald's scheduling software doesn't allow the employee to necessarily have a fixed schedule. I mean, you can demon fight if you want to, but generally you'll be having to do that on the day shift. Saturday night plan to be at McDonald's Second Shift and since Sunday is time and a half they'll probably try to minimize your shift differential usage there. That might be a evening for demon fighting. Once again though, scheduling changes are posted at the first of the month. Be sure to request your triumphs of cataclysmic horrors at least 30 days in advance to ensure you can get the time off. It is on a first come first serve basis, so be sure to plan around your co-worker's dental appointments!

Has this got as much impact among Japanese denizens of 2ch, fc2, Pixiv or Nico Nico Douga? (Serious question, because I can't check from work.) Apparently the only people who've latched on to it so far seem to be non-Japanese. And at that it's hard to tell whether this is a fandom or a meme that gets some riffing on before people move on to another meme.

The translated frames I saw on Tumblr had "You want to work here with me?" as the initial greeting by "senpai" to the new girl. Which, combined with a pan-up from the new girl's POV had a distinctively hey-baby vibe.

Yep. But its a menu / joke / ad thing. (Not that smiles / cheerful service isn't a general job requirement in Japan, but you won't normally see customers asking for them at other restaurants).

The translation was generally okay but there were a few mistakes and a few parts that needed more fine-tuning.
"Would you like that to go?" was translated as "Would you like to go wait, please?" Dunno what was up with that translation.
Translating 落ち着いて as "Compose yourself" is technically accurate but sounds harsh. "Relax/Calm down/Take a deep breath" would have been more in keeping with the tone.
Translating "スマイルください" as "Smile, please" makes it sound like ordering someone to do something (like "run, please" or "jump, please"), but the Japanese phrase is clearly ordering a menu item, not ordering an action. "A smile, please" would have been more accurate, but that construction sounds really assholish in English (and I don't mean in the "society asks women to smile" sense, but in the sense that the construction itself is assholish, and would come off poorly regardless of which genders were involved). Not sure there's anything the translator could have done about that.

From what I can tell from Googling, zero. All the interest so far seems to be entirely Western.
