This April is the 20th National Poetry Month in the United States and there are many ways to celebrate.
Here is the 2016 Multimedia "Dear Poet" project call to students and teachers to learn more about poetry. Here are the 2015 instructions.
Poem 180 also offers up ways to learn about & teach poetry.
Here are 30 ways to celebrate.
It's a great time to explore the Library of Congress Poetry section and current poet laureate Juan Felipe Herrera's project La Casa de Colores.
Last year, The Poetry Foundation made their April issue of Poetry Magazine free, so keep an eye out.

Yay! How did I not know about this?
I always mean to read more poetry than I actually do, but San Francisco has a wonderful poets in the schools program that was absolutely instrumental in my education. Tuesday poetry classes were how I learned at a very young age that writing was fun and a means of expression, and not something you are forced to do with a teacher or parent standing over you. Many of my friends did not have that experience.

I want a kindle designed just for reading poetry. Like something the size of a chapbook.
It would need to be really wide to ensure the integrity of line breaks across different scale typefaces. I bought a copy of Best American Poetry for my Kindle a couple of years ago and it was nigh unreadable the line breaks got so hosed up on poems written using a longer line, like Whitman's.
