boulders and bones

boulders and bones (2014) by the ODC Dance Company of San Francisco (Highlights.) "Inspired by the work of visual artist Andy Goldsworthy [previously] and set to a live score commissioned by acclaimed avant-cellist Zoë Keating [previously], Way and Nelson’s fearless choreography touches on transformation in both art and nature. RJ Muna’s cinematic mise en scene, which traces the shifting light, changing landscape, and building process of Goldsworthy’s installation, takes us through the chaos of creative process to the clarity of realization."

Via Boing Boing... two years ago. I noticed it at the time and meant to post it when it showed up online, but apparently I spaced it and didn't remember until this weekend. Seemed like a nice thing to watch on Easter weekend, and better late than never.

Oh man, I was fortunate enough to see Zoe + ODC a few years back, and it was absolutely incredible.

Great to see a full length work like this available online. On the topic of dance from San Francisco, Joe Goode's 29 effeminate gestures is a must watch and should compliment the above experience nicely.

Oh, this is breathtaking. Thank you for posting. I love Keating, too -- was able to see her twice in Rasputina and she was mesmerizing.

Thank you for this! I've seen Zoe twice and both times she was brilliant and had the most charming stage presence of all time.

askld;gfhjds;lfkgj';dskgjfl; this is like something pulled directly out of my heart and provided I can convince the video to load in full I am going to love everything about it.
