2016 is turning out to be a tragic year for the voices of iconic Star Wars characters. Only three months after Jason Wingreen (who voiced Boba Fett) passed away, we now have the passing of radio dramatist Erik Bauersfeld, who once upon a time stepped into a recording booth and spent an hour or so voicing Admiral Ackbar and Bib Fortuna.
You mean the person who voiced Boba Fett... until the new versions replaced his voice with that of Temuera Morrison, who played Jango Fett. That's one of them problems with the constant revisions. Even if it may be closer to George Lucas' "Original Vision," it erases the work of many of the actors and special effects artists who helped to make the iconic original. Jason Wingreen at least still voices Ackbar and Bib Fortuna, so hey, 2/3 ain't bad, right?

Actually he didn't mean to step into the booth, but he did warn the people behind him that it was a trap.

The news is worse than you think. Canadian actor Don Francks has passed away at the age of 84. He was the voice of Boba Fett in the Star Wars Holiday Special.

No, Erik Bauersfeld voices them, as mentioned in the post.

Peter Mayhew and Anthony Daniels look like they could have been in a postpunk band.

"It's a trap!" is one of the few Star Wars quotes my wife will let me use on a routine basis without swinging a fly swatter at me. We received The Force Awakens blu-ray order a day early by some blessed chance and it was with delight that I quickly pointed out to her that Ackbar lived. Her response was, "Go ahead and say it."
