We are stardust
Billion year old carbon
We are golden
Caught in the devil's bargain
And we've got to get ourselves
back to the garden

Cool article. And I mean cool. I like that life's building blocks are inside tiny bits of ice floating among clouds. I'm bound to think of that when I next fix my wife a Bailey's on the rocks.

the jump from amino acid formation to living blob is still beyod our ken, AFAIK. this is a variation on the experiment that reproduced the conditions on virgin earth and managed to produce amino acids in 'warm pools', or something. nice work, though.
anyhoo, i love this type of thing, e.g. all metal was formed in stars, the only things massive enough to create the forces required (again AFAIK). cosmic, man.
