They sure seem to love them. What flavour are they?

I now understand how these are the most dangerous animal on the savannah.

Next time I'm watching a rugby game and a player "feeds the scrum", this is exactly what I'll be imagining.

Nails are like candy to a robot, and we'll eat tires instead of licorice.

Those sure are some hungry, hungry hippos.

The slow inevitability of their bite reminds me of an industrial shredder.

*shudder* just imagine what they could do with a slightly smaller watermelon

I think that's the first time I've ever heard someone call a hippo "majestic." The term is usually considered incompatible with marking your territory through squirted diarrhea flung through the air by your propellering tail.

This makes me very happy.

Dunno, if they gave the Habsburgs a few more generations of inbreeding, there would be portions of Europe that ended up in another country "because the Kings' bowels were particularly agitated that day".

Does anyone know what the keeper is saying? Probably something like "Ok, let's go!" but I'd like to know specifically.

I didn't realize hippos liked watermelons, but those hippos sure do like 'em.

He's saying, "And now it's time to feed XYZ hippo. And now we're going to feed ZYZ hippo."

(With the disclaimer that I've mostly picked Japanese up by watching anime) I think he's saying "hai, agemasu" as in "okay, I'm giving it to you now". The other narration seems to be introducing the first hippo as Momo and the second one as Donny.

Yay, thanks! I'm glad I get to know the hippos' names.

This picture of a teething baby hippopotamus is one of my favorite things to exist on the internet.

Lucidity, yeah, you're spot-on. It doesn't really translate super well because "now I'm giving it to Momo/Donny" is an unnatural thing to announce in such a way in English, but is totally normal in Japanese.

Why are we still talking when jedicus already ended the thread in the sixth comment?

I scanned the title too quickly and thought, whoa, what could the complications of hippos eating whole watermelons be? I don't want to describe the horrors I imagined.

Fortunately I really enjoyed the actual clips. Nice and crunchy with no exploding hippos. Thanks for posting.

This is basically how I eat Cadbury Caramel Eggs. I live in a pit and a Japanese guy on a platform drops them a few inches into my maw and then shit just goes everywhere.

All the hippos go berserk!

This is like how Cookie Monster "eats" cookies. They just explode them in their mouths and let everything fall out!
