For your further amusement and Thomas abuse Ernest the tank engine. A little more lighthearted.

Interesting idea that needs a lot of editing and a lot less vomit and gore... IMHO....

I'm guessing that this is something where you'd have to have grown up on the series to really appreciated. To me, it was a pretty standard exercise in revisionism a la Alan Moore where you take your childhood franchise and uncover the Dark Secret behind it. For people of my era and country, the equivalent would be giving the Muppets the Dr. Moreau treatment.

Thomas, he's the freaky one,
James thinks pain is lots of fun,
Percy pulls the male just fine,
Gordon chunders, drunk, half blind.
Emily really knows she's tough,
Henry clearly huffs and puffs,
Edward needs to clear the air,
Toby, let's just say he's square.

While I agree that it's an interesting idea, I'd have to say that the vomit and the gore and the horrific aspects are what it's all about.

Technically it's ... OK. It's fairly simplistic 3d imitating the 'wooden peg people' stop-motion-y style that populated the early TV series (nowadays, of course, it's all much better 3d). So it can look fairly cheap, but if you're familiar with the historical Thomas you can go with it easily enough.

Where it actually gets interesting is when that simplistic style is used in a directly horrific manner - the blank eyes or frozen face of a tortured individual.

That and the fact that, despite the rough-cut nature of the animation and some of the voice work being spotty, it's really well structured, building up to a worthwhile climax which was super fun if you like that kind of thing. Building upon the increasingly unsettling nature of what had gone before (the vomit and the gore), yet being both different to it and in keeping with it.

I enjoyed the hell out of it, and if I had money to give them to smooth out some of those aforementioned rough edges, I'd totally do it.

(Must not read comments)

OK, this looks like it could be really good. I only watched like the three first scenes before I had to pause it so I could get my Friday night beer.

I am now all beered up (in the fridge, not my gut), and am ever so hopeful this will not disappoint me.

*cracks a cold one*

Here I go!

Just my humble opinion, but I thought it was very creative and hilarious. I never expected Nazis, TBH. Worth a viewing, IMHO. Thanks for posting, Small Dollar.

"Thomas the Screaming Tank Engine" combines Elder Scrolls lore and Thomas and horror in a way that I do not find entirely amusing, but there it is. Audio version here.

I've always thought that a mashup of Thomas and The Wire would be fruitful. You could put the stevedores down in Brendam Docks, battles between the East and West sides of the train sheds over who controls the special coal and Sir Topham Hatt is just meant to be voiced by Proposition Joe.

I don't think Thomas needs this kind of treatment.

There's an episode where a Less Useful Engine than Thomas is irresponsible and incautious, and causes an accident. As punishment, his wheels are removed and he is converted to a stationary engine in a shed. A cliff collapses, burying the shed. And there he is entombed for 20 years. Steam engines can't sleep. Steam engines can't die.

I have no mouth and I must steam.

That's Henry, entombed in a tunnel for all eternity because he doesn't want to get wet. The episode ends with him gazing sadly out of his prison, being taunted by the other engines but unable to reply because his fire has gone out. And then the jaunty theme tune starts up.

And then there's the successful conspiracy to murder a brake van because it's irritating them (by braking, which is presumably what it is meant to do), and the numerous engines sent to be euthanised at the scrap yard (Trevor, Oliver, there are various threats to the others when they aren't being "useful" enough during the series). It is horrendous with retrospect.
