I've never been to jail but if I ever have to I'm going to start with the advice I have been given to keep to myself and not talk too much. But not too much! You don't want your fellow prisoners thinking that you think you are better than them or something like that.

This jail is less than 2 blocks from the place I went to elementary and middle school.

Never been inside but it is of relatively recent construction and has had no scandals that I've heard of.
