Brendon Small confirms there will be no Metalocalypse series finale.

What did you think of that campaign where they wanted people to fax in to save the show?

>Oh that? I actually talked to Adult Swim and said ‘what are you doing this for? You already said no to me, I know you’re not going to make this show, and now you’re just antagonizing all these fans.’

Back in October 2015:

Brendon Small, creator of the popular show Metalocalypse has launched a new campaign to finally release the show’s finale, which he has already written but couldn’t release before Adult Swim pulled the plug on the show. As Hulu now owns the rights to stream the show, Smalls is trying to get them to partner with Adult Swim to make the finale a reality and he’s asking for the help of every fan out there to let them know we want to see it.

I don't understand anything that happens at Cartoon Network. They're constantly shuffling their schedule around in ways that defy logic and sanity, and that's the general audience stuff that people actually watch. The Adult Swim shows...are there any anymore? The Venture Bros came back for an abbreviated season after something like a three-year hiatus, but I think all the other AS shows Cartoon Network produced are gone, right? Well, there's that strange Mike Tyson show. I'm all about Parasyte, but that's not really an Adult Swim production...

Metalocalypse had about run its course, but it's too bad Small isn't getting the chance to do the finale it deserves. I'm sure it would be brutal.

And, like we will never see Xander Cruse on Killfaces homeworld, we will surely never know who Skwisgars pep-pep is.

If you need a Brendan Small pick-me-up, and have netflix, I encourage you to watch the Michael Sheen episode of Comedy Bang Bang.

I know that contracts are hell, but I wonder what the odds of a graphic novel of the "final season" or "series finale" would be.

mikelieman: Hopefully it won't be like what happened with Carnivale - they wanted to make the rest of the series a comic but Time Warner said no. The takeaway: destroy all corporations, burn down the cities and start over, nuke America, etc.

I'd never seen Small when he was being a live human being and not a cartoon! He actually reminds me of H. Jon Benjamin, which is weird.

Why? My first introduction to both of these people was in a show that they were both in.

Deadaluspark, they just kind of look and sound similar to me. Not identical, but like they could play brothers. My understanding is that Small's voice was sped up a bit to play a kid on Home Movies, so just hearing his normal voice is news to me. (It's weird seeing Melissa not be a cartoon, too.)

Every show Benjamin's in, I can't unhear Coach McGuirk. When I see Benjamin being interviewed someplace, it's like, "Wow, that guy sounds just like Coach McGuirk!"

Smalls on CBB, with his dual character Victor and Tiny, singing a beautiful song: Under the Apple Tree.

I find the Mike Tyson show oddly enjoyable. I love Rick and Morty and Venture Bros. So there is still some good stuff on there. Not a lot, but some.

That show with the dog almost negates all the good on the entire network though.

I don't get that show at all.

Ooof, right in the feels. This is when I realized that almost all of the DVD sets I've purchased are of shows that died ignoble deaths.

Who married Melissa from Home Movies? It wasn't Brendon Small.

I love that you can find tons of videos of people covering songs by the fictional band. Like this guy nailing Deththeme. Maybe it helped that Brendan Small made a how-to video.

I especially love that there are real covers of a fictional jingle of a fictional coffee company written by a fictional band.

The Bob's Burger's crossover* on Archer last year satisfied me on more levels than I realized I had. It's so difficult to even explain why it's funny.

I love Adult Swim, but it's a shame they didn't finish off Metalocalypse properly...
