I saw an amateur (ie., whoever wanted to perform) burlesque / stripper show at Burning Man's Whiskey & Whores camp around 2010. The exuberance and enthusiasm of ordinary, "average-body" people (women AND men) getting up on stage and dancing / pole-dancing / stripping was incredibly touching. It seemed very liberating for them. The audience in turn were all very supportive.

I'm getting misty now just thinking about it.
