Canadian artist Rae Spoon has released their newest music video, I Hear Them Calling

"Equal rights are shown in the way transgender people can access public facilities. The recent trend of bathroom laws criminalizes spaces that are already difficult for transgender folks to navigate," says Spoon. "I hope this video will help show the youth who will be affected by these laws how absurd they are."

She played for free at the most recent Skeleton Park Arts Fest! It was wonderfully happening less than four blocks from my house.

(it seems pertinent to note that Rae Spoon employs gender neutral pronouns)

Ze is awesome and Telus, what's the point of sponsoring it if you're just going to disclaim the shit out of it?

YES! This is awesome. This has (almost) erased my grumpiness about finding yet another very illegal single-sex, single-stall bathroom in an otherwise really great sandwich shop in NE DC. I want to join the monster party.

Ooh I saw Rae sing in a tiny venue for a refugee sponsorship committee fundraiser just a few moths ago. Had not heard of them before that and it made me glad there are activists younger than me to share new activist awesome culture that is emerging and insightful and moving. Excited to hear more so thanks for the post!
