This blog made us better people.

We would have had to be told how it’s not cute to call a short skirt or a tight dress “slutty” when you’re writing about fashion. In fact, we were told. Just as we were told how to talk about people in a more respectful way while still providing some entertainment. Just as we were told that the fashion and entertainment journalism industries white-wash the definition of beauty and tend to render anyone who falls outside the limited scope of it invisible.
Tom Fitzgerald and Lorenzo Marquez of the namesake fashion and pop-culture blog Tom & Lorenzo (née Project RunGay) reflect on what they've learned in their ten years of blogging.

"We listened to our readers and to various other voices, telling us how to do better." That's a terrific skill to have learned.

Oh gosh I used to love these guys back in the Project Rungay days. They did a wonderful job of deconstructing the costumes on Mad Men, delving into how the costumes reflected the emotions and life choices of the characters. I haven't checked in with them in a long time. So many blogs, so little time. Thank you for highlighting this, though.

Tom & Lorenzo are fantastic! I can't believe they've been one of my regular reads for 10 years now. Project Runway became terrible, but Tom & Lorenzo are still killing it.

TLo was one of my sources of inspiration for my knitting blog (the other two were the Fug Girls and a long defunct blog called You Knit What?!). They've done some fine work, i.e., the Mad Men costume analysis, and some of their movie recaps are killer.
