With only 7 cams, I'm not sure how definitive it is. Having said that, I'm too busy watching the bears at Brooks falls to comment further!

The osprey one sounds great. I really really (like obsessively) got into a Great Horned Owl cam in the spring but sadly it's done for the year. I think the nests of birds of prey make for the most exciting cams once the babies are hatched. It was so unbelievably satisfying to watch Mom and Dad Owl bring in a seemingly unending supply of dead things for the chicks. Made me happy to think that the GHOs in my trees were wreaking similar destruction on the local rodent population.

I legitimately love the puffin cam, which would surprise no one who called them penguins in the presence of my 8 year old self.

Metafilter: I don’t know what I was expecting—obviously these animals have no obligation to entertain me.

Osprey cam is apparently a Q and A with a ranger right now, but I'm embarrassingly excited to check it out. I just saw an osprey for the first time the other day, and I promptly got made fun of by everyone around me for getting really excited and then calling my mom to confirm if that's what I saw.

Oh man, they made a huge mistake not including walrus cam. Sleeping walruses look like sausages with little almond slivers sticking out.

Awww...did you see that sweet bear at the Katmai NP in Alaska get himself a fish? Wish I could be there with him.

Disclaimer: it's about 500 hundred degrees with matching humidity in North Carolina right now and that river looks really wonderfully cold.

One of the ospreys is pancaking and the other is apparently trying to hawk up a stubborn loogie.

Okay. They included the puffins.

If they're including the penguin habitat at the Aquarium of the Pacific, then it's ridic not to list the National Zoo's Panda Cam, the interruption of which singlehandedly* forced the end of the 2013 government shutdown.

Bear Cam (#2) during salmon season has been on at our house and my buddy's house basically non-stop for a few weeks now. It's so, so good.

The link for Pete's Pond looks to be here.

(At my mom's place, they have mostly replaced television viewing with watching live cams of various stuff. The other big hit animal related hit is giraffes in captivity at the Greenville Zoo, which is a different sort of viewing, but might be of interest to you guys.)

Not sure if those are the right links, but I think so. The whole notion isn't really my thing, but it's fascinating. It's one consequence of our dystopian cyberpunk present that I hadn't really considered when I was a kid.

Sorry but no way Osprey Cam (#1) is better than Bear Cam (#2) at all. I've been researching both and osprey is just two birds sitting there jawing...meanwhile over on BEAR CAM I see tons of salmon hopping up the falls and three bears all employing different techniques to catch them including one who appears to subscribe to a zen theory of fish hunting. Bear Cam 4 lyfe

And Zen Bear just caught a fish! His method works!

(Can we live blog these while we wait for the convention?)
