That is very cute, but I find myself wishing Kanji would throw in a fart noise or two so I'd know they were making with the funny - squeeze toys sound a little distressed to me.

I am assured, by someone familiar with parrots and related birds, that Kanji is playing and having a good time.

Yeah, I like the otter video, but then I like a lot of otter things.

On the otter hand, I can't believe they missed the butter           fly.

That was one thrill-seeking butterfly. I live near one of the bigger otter colonies on the California Central Coast, and I suspect they would probably be a lot more blasé, because we also have the Pismo Butterfly Grove where some of the Monarchs spend the winter (less than they used to, it's one of the southernmost groves and, you know, Global Warming), and I think the otters are used to seeing a lot more colorful flutterbys... the one in the video looked more like one of the moths that live in my closet waiting for me to buy a new sweater, except I don't because, you know, Global Warming.

But then, otters will chase almost anything.

The body language is very clear once you understand it. Kanji is being super chill right there.

Also, larger parrots -- and African Grays in particular -- will not hesitate to show their discomfort with biting. Kanji's owner still has fingers by the time the video ends, QED.

Mooski: Personally, the best case scenario would be making the first part of a bicycle horn sound when you squeeze and the second part when you let go. Honk... honk.

I have been trying to figure out the best way to teach my african grey this trick.
I'll keep you posted.
