Greetings everyone, Tyrone here to tell you about the only true eSport: Quake! [con Grand Finals 2016--greatest Quake Duel of all time!! ...] I suggest you stop playing your filthy-casual baby tier MOBAs, and bow to the king. Quake.

Highlights:
First map: rapha ties it up in the last seconds, blind spam rocket in the face.
Second map: evil fails the mega glitch twice in a row, but really the entire 28 minutes are a highlight.
4th map: last minute of last map, rapha saves himself. Both players almost dead, closest possible margin to end the game.

rapha: "that's the hardest fucking final I've ever had to play."

Thanks for the post. The demo function of the original NetQuake / QuakeWorld was such a cool piece of technology. Many hours spent watching classic matches from the POV of all the big names. In my years of fragging I have come across and been destroyed by a good number of top tier players out there slumming it ... watching demos is so much less frustrating.

Heh. My boss, who used to be one of the biggest quake commentators, if not THE biggest, came in today losing his mind over that finals. Rapha matches are always great but this was something else.

I'm pretty excited for Quake champions, too. So far it looks promising.

Is Thresh still a presence in competitive Quake? He was the first e-sportsman ever on my radar and I remember being into his demos around '98
