Make-up artist Lisa Eldridge recreates David Bowie's make-up from the final Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars concert at the London Hammersmith Odeon in 1973.

I hadn't realized that the ZS makeup was that elaborate. Most people, when they want to do glitter-era Bowie, go straight for the Aladdin Sane lightning bolt.

Cool, but I wish every time Bowie was referenced it wasn't always from this period. He did so much more than Ziggy and Aladdin Sane. He himself couldn't understand why people had to keep mining what amounted to 2 years of his career. I guess I find it tiring in part because it's a nagging reminder that someone as special and delightfully inventive as him comes along once in a lifetime. Everyone else just pales in comparison.
