(I love Chef John. Thanks for this, it's improved an otherwise not very enjoyable evening.)

I love Chef John. I've learned so much about cooking from him and he has such a pleasant, supportive demeanor. I don't understand how he doesn't have a show on PBS yet.

You are the ace
Of baste.

I love Chef John. He recently showed up in a dream - just a disembodied voice making announcements, but everyone was like "Hey, that's Chef John!"

I so heart Chef John and have for years, so when I saw his name in the FPP title I was hoping you were talking about him! He really taught me how to cook a ton of stuff. I just adore his videos. They're perfectly concise without leaving anything important out, they're accessible to all experience levels, and he's just so much fun to listen to. I've spent countless hours on his Food Wishes blog, linked above.

Really, if anyone is wanting to learn to cook or cook better or is intimidated by most cooking how-to shows, I highly recommend him. Even for the seasoned cook, he's just such a pleasure. What a treasure of a man! I agree with lunasol -- I have no idea how he doesn't have his own show yet (although that partnership with AllRecipes.com was a pretty big deal for him).

I'm kind of glad Chef John sticks to YouTube instead of trying to break into the Food Network or something like that. YouTube is a perfect format for cooking instructional videos. There are so many great food channels, especially now that the cable offerings seem to be largely interested in completion shows or growing a new Rachael Ray in a vat.
