Let’s have another round tonight

Video games, of course, are lousy with taverns, and in taverns you will invariably encounter bards. Some are kind of lousy, some are really quite good, some won't stop singing about you, and a few might even be trying to kill you. If there's no bard around, you can make some music yourself! Grab a guitar (or a lute I guess) and a few of your friends. Sure, a few murder ballads might be nice while you drain a pint, but don't forget you can also sing while you work!

And it all started in Skara Brae (though I never had an Apple IIGS).

Before Bard's Tale they only had jesters. "I have the key! I have the key!" Annoying little shits.

Personally, I've been having a blast with the "Become a Bard" mod for Skyrim. I just travel from town to town playing in taverns and getting in trouble. Sometimes I'll play the wrong version of "Age of Aggression/Age of Oppression" and start a fight for lulz.

Another candidate is Alternate Reality, which offered scrolling karaoke-style lyrics for its tavern songs.

Was about to offer up AR as well, but got pipped to the post by Iridic. Can still remember the tunes and lyrics - wish that I could say the same about some of the things that I was supposed to have learned...

In the Trespasser DLC for Dragon Age: Inquisition Sera finally gets so tired of being followed everywhere by her song that she breaks the bard's lute. After all, Sera was never an agreeable girl!

Can't watch the videos ATM, but FFIV's "you spoony bard" deserves a mention too.

"Ahh, a new face! Dancers, acolytes, witches, goats! Everyone's welcome in here!"

I love Shovel Knight's tavern.
