Cute! But all I can think of is the old Tootsie Pop commercials: "How many licks does it take to get to the center?"

Some of those poor cats seem totally chicked out.

CHIKKINKITTIN
KITTINCHIKKIN

The right Mama cat will mother just about anything. That last cat under the blanket of peeping chicks - can't get over the look on her face.

There was once an experiment where they raised kittens and mice together. IIRC, about half of the cats ended up eating their former childhood playmates.

Our entire relationship came from their desire to be warm and clean. If chickens can provide that, fine.

Kittens, when not being little hellspawn terrors, can be incredibly chill about anything.

The thing with chickens is that they're just a little bit big for kittens to tackle, and then they grow way too big for most cats to be interested. I live next door to some chickens, and they're basically not even visible to our cat - she could probably take one in a fight, I guess, but she's not looking for prey as big as she is. Even when the house next door had a pretty scrappy average sized cat, the cat would scare the chickens for fun but didn't try to eat them. If you had a big cat and small chickens you might have a problem, but in general cats don't seem to go for things larger than small rabbits.

We had a pet hen and two indoor/outdoor cats when I was a kid. Daisy the hen was the undisputed ruler of the roost. The older cat was bigger than her, but if she gave chase he ran for high ground like a sprinting gazelle.

Well, common wisdom has it that chickens are the closest thing to dinosaurs alive today, so from a cat's point of view, an angry hen could be viscerally terrifying, like one of the scenes from Jurassic Park.
