Deadspin presents the worst tweets of 2016.

This post was deleted for the following reason: This seems to be not going over real well, and I don't know that we need a listing of terrible things? Or a fight over whether they're terrible, or if people who don't think they're terrible are themselves ipso facto terrible, or whatever. -- LobsterMitten

Ha! These are too awesome. Literally, these are too awesome. Too much hilarity to take in in one read. Must ration and come back at decent intervals.

Are half of these inside jokes in the Deadspin offices? Like, what's so awful about his tweet:

I feel like the rest of us need to get behind a canonical pluralism frog to turn back the tide, re-appropriate what's been lost. pic.twitter.com/bjXTzjR56c

Am I missing some context here?

Am I missing something? Is that whole thing meant to be ironic? Because tbqh, I don't see a thing wrong with at least half of those tweets, and probably more. And I can tell you as a heavy Twitter user that they're sure as shit not anywhere near the worst Tweets of any year, much less 2016.

The Bill Simmons one at the end made me snicker out loud in my office. Never change, Deadspin.

NEVER CHANGE.

These seem more like "A Random Sampling of Tweets of 2016". Which, I guess, might well make them some of the worst ever just by association with 2016 as a period in time, but I feel like there have to have been much worse ones within the year.

Like, how could any list of the ostensible worst Tweets of 2016 not list this one?

If you like Ashley Feinberg's Twitter feed, you'll like this article. If not, well...

This just reads like Reason #743 why I'm glad I deleted my Twitter account three years ago (and I didn't need to be harassed off the platform to smell the overwhelming shit) and why all of Twitter should just die in a fire.

A strange mix of stuff that's actually kinda bad, and stuff you have to already be a piece of human shit on Twitter to actually think is bad or even noteworthy at all.

fuck "a piece of human shit on Twitter" is too long for a display name

As a human piece of shit who thinks these are funny, I admire you those of you who are mirthless, and who do not identify as human pieces of shit.

Folks here might be a little less confused if the title was "tweets these folks were super stoked about putting out there but which hit a total sour note."
