How can a Nightclub become profitable?

DNA Lounge will close soon if it cannot become self sustaining. Opened in 1983, it was purchased by Mozilla.org founder Jamie Zawinski in 1999. Having invested about $5 million, he can no longer finance a $380,000 annual shortfall. It comes down to needing the equivalent of 800 more people attending each week. What can be done to make it happen?

Many of the obvious things have been tried. For example, JWZ commented: ""Partner with a local event planner who will manage these events" is the kind of thing that literally everyone says because it is literally the first thing anyone ever thinks of.
.......Because every time we've talked to one, it has gone absolutely nowhere. We give them a tour, they say "this sounds great", and then we never hear from them again."
