Fully Charged Christmas Roundup

Boats, trucks, bicycles, Turbines, Batteries, Bio-gas, policy changes, and a rapidly burgeoning number of cars. The world of Electric Vehicles is one of the more optimistic contexts in which to review 2016 - which is what Robert Llewellyn's Fully Charged Christmas Special does. posted by rongorongo (4 comments total) 8 users marked this as a favorite

Whee electric cars! I have driven about 9000 miles in my Volt over the past year, with about 7000 of those electric powered. The general conclusion between my wife and I is that we will never buy another car without a plug. This means that (most likely) we will replace our gas-powered Matrix with a plug-in hybrid that can pull a trailer, and then eventually replace the Volt with a Bolt or similar. I also really want a nice electric bike- a steady 28 mph (legal limit for pedal-assist) would make a bike commute directly competitive with driving most of the year.

Robert Llewellyn is an international treasure. Love this channel, and his enthusiasm. It's exceptionally well done (for any medium, let alone a youtube channel) and high quality on the research too.

I love this. I binged all of Fully Charged a few months ago (yes, all of it) and I don't even drive, nevermind give a shit about electric cars, but his enthusiasm and charm is just so fucking compelling. (I also learned a lot about something I previously knew practically nothing about at all)

"Now, as I've said many times before, [the British isles] have an enormous amount of wind."

Prolly all those beans y'all eat for breakfast.
